As a qualified teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience and a combined tutoring history of 5 years we welcome you to The Tuition Mill.
At The Tuition Mill we are passionate about teaching and devote ourselves, ensuring each child, no matter what needs, levels or background has the best chance in life to have a good quality education. We are very proud of our work and believe in each child and seeing progression keeps us motivated. Along with our highly qualified teachers and subject specialists, our specialised comprehensive programme and materials allow us to tailor our teaching to each individual. We firmly believe that reading is the key to success. Reading and comprehension are the gateways to learning, but they can also be the barriers. This is why we at The Tuition Mill are particularly good as we are able to identify the discrepancies one way or another.
We are a represented by The Tutor Association, who are a registered body representing qualified teachers and qualified tutoring companies. All our staff are DBS checked and a Paediatric First Aider will always be present. Your child's safety is key!
At The Tuition Mill we offer a FREE assessment conducted by our FULLY QUALIFIED TEACHER; Informal pieces of work will be given to the student, from comprehension, writing to an interactive numeracy activities, both computer and paper based. From this a personalised learning programme is created, which is tailored to your child's needs. Each in-depth assessment can take up to 60 minutes and is an opportunity for the student to meet the tutor and sample the system so that they will be comfortable working in the centre from the outset.
Once enrolled, each session is NOT just an hour, but 80 minutes. Students benefit from FULL one to one attention in small, focused groups of 3-4.
Assessments will be repeated every 12 weeks to ensure children are meeting their targets and feedback will be given both to students and parents.
Extensive research has gone into the assessment materials and the programmes of study we use and these are updated regularly.
All our programmes and materials are in line with the New National Curriculum to ensure children are meeting national expectations. If it is something you request, we are more than happy to liaise with your child’s school teacher. We are here to help so it’s a good opportunity for students and parents to ask any questions.
